Advice from Supermodels Gisele and Heidi on how to get the perfect body

2 Feb

curves, skinny, celebrities, the perfect body, weight

Blasted all over the internet the following meme has been popping up everywhere. – “When Did This Become Hotter Than This”. The 2×4 compares our modern super skinny celebrities with gorgeous beauty icons from past few decades.

So, what’s hotter?

Women don’t need to be stick thin for men to find them attractive. Very attractive even. Research has shown that a hip-to-waist ratio of 70% is the most attractive female proportion. Men want curves and not “stick-straight”, starved bodies. We cannot lie, however; and pretend that men appreciate every bit of a woman’s extra pounds. They appreciate extra weight only if it is in the right places. And those places are obviously in the breasts and the “derriere”.

Advice from supermodels Gisele and Heidi.

The perfect body takes motivation, perspiration and work. If you read interviews from top supermodels like Gisele Bundchen or Heidi Klum, they admit that their appearances do not come easy. Gisele has a ambitious exercise routine and is a fan of keeping in shape with Tai-kwon-do. She points out how relatives of hers have similar genes to her, but not as fabulous bodies. Why she explains, because they simply don’t work as hard as she does to ensure she looks great. When Heidi Klum was asked for the thousandth time how she lost her baby weight in time for an upcoming Victoria’s Secret fashion show, she admits that she went to bed every night thinking, “Do I want to go to bed hungry or have a fat backside?”.

So how do non-supermodels get the perfect body?

A great body is lean and healthy. A good diet will get rid of all the fat we don’t want. New research confirms that it is no particular diet plan that will work for everyone. In fact the only thing that works across the board is counting calories – calories in vs. calories out. Counting calories is easy enough with an online calorie counter and will make sure that you are consuming the correct number of calories to lose weight. The most recommended counter out there right now is  MyFoodDiary.com. It is great place to start your weight loss program and to start skinny.

Mold your perfect body

The correct exercise routine will build a strong, lean body and add muscle in all the right places. Start a new exercise routine by talking with a personal trainer. He or she will show you how to tighten up the areas you want to reduce and how to build up the areas you want to enhance. Remember, the same exercise plan will not work for everyone. A bottom heavy woman will want to create lean thighs and a smaller butt. However, a top heavy woman will want to build her backside. Following the correct exercise plan diligently will help you create that perfect 70% hip-to-waist ratio which men will love and woman will hate you for.

Supermodel Advice on how to get the perfect body

Starting Off

5 Oct

So I’m starting off again.

I weighed in around 136-137 yesterday. More than every, ugh ugh – but I’ll get back on track soon and get the weight off. I suppose my goal weight is the same as it was previously 128-130lbs. That 6-9lbs is going to be work and definitely take time – a full month at least of hard work. Anything, anything to get rid of the newly appeared cellulite on my thighs. I finally get IT now, because I have IT now, and eh eh cellulite be gone!

I ate completely raw yesterday and plan on just eating light today. I used to be very preoccupied with working out, but I think the best route for me this time around is to just eat less. The New York Magazine article in my last post talked all about how exercising doesn’t make you lose weight (the author was obviously trying to make a strong point – I have no doubt that exercising helps your body stay healthy and go through the transition of losing weight better) and it made me realize that I cannot just try to exercise those slices of pie. (My new boyfriend works at a restaurant famous for its pies. Off course as his lady, I get free and unlimited pie – so bad, but oh soo good… a la mode s’il vous plait) I think I might have better success trying to limit my calories a little more rather than obsessively go to the gym. Considering how I’m so busy, I think if get gym-crazy again, I will 1) Have no free time ever 2) Get stressed out and eat more 3) Get overwhelmed and give up on my diet.

It’s always good to use moderation in hopes of a gradual change, then get all crazy-like trying to turn into Jane Fonda in a week. Wish me luck!

Fiesta Time!

23 May

Sorry I have been absent from my posts… I have just started up a new job. Nothing fancy, I am working at an upscale Mexican restaurant down in Soho and tonight. Tonight was my first night. I work part-time during the day and take a summer course so this will just be 3 nights a week. I had a really great first day though. The restaurant is very easy-paced and because it is more expensive I still make a solid amount in tips which is rather important for the impoverished college student. It was so funny, the first person I really spoke with (the bartender) told me he had gone raw for 5 years and worked in all these juice bars and basically we just chatted about wheatgrass and nutrients for twenty minutes- I was so happy! Anyways, I have yet to decide whether the temptation of mexican food so frequently will be good for my diet plan or bad, but I actually think it’ll be good. I’ll be kept very busy running around, which will keep me from binge snacking and just binging in general. MOST of all, (and one of the main reasons I got a part-time night gig) is that it will keep me from going out with my friends most nights (like I have been) therefore keeping all that alcohol and late-night 2nd dinner away and save me a bit of money too. Overall, I am very pleased…

Unfortunately, however; I haven’t been to the gym for a week. I have just been lazy, but I figure I will work it into my schedule and get back on track. It’s funny, I actually started this blog when I was about a size 6 and since have grown to a size 8, and even though my goal is to slim down, I really embrace my bigger size as well. It’s strange because all my friends are so skinny, but I still feel and feel like I look so sexy. I am actually RATHER curvy right now, and I am such a curve lovin’ gal that I Can’t Help but love ’em. I don’t feel as strong physically though, soI will definitely be heading back to the gym. Life is just so much better when you stop being on a diet. I have decided no more crazyness – just eat less, exercise M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N.

Lately, I haven’t been concerning myself with food, nutrients, starving, cooking etc. and life has been so much better. WEll, I’ve also been going out a lot, but still food is such a pressure and a burden in society. Lets just stop it all, enjoy eating, enjoy food and enjoy living! woohoo

Goal Guzzling Gal

17 May

p5160061.jpg

Start Weight = 136lbs
Waist = 29″ Size 8

Goal#1 Weight = 132lbs

Goal#2 Weight = 130lbs

FinalGoal Weight = 128lbs
Waist = 27.5″

Ideal Weight = don’t really care
Waist = 26″ Size 4-6?

There should be rewards along the way, no?
Massages are a way I never justifying treating myself, even though I love them so much (but who doesn’t). I believe that the best way to judge that I have reached my goal is through waist measurement, but I think I will go by weight primarily because it’s easiest for me to track. Overall, I will try to go by both. One massage everytime I reach a goal – woohoo!

and the PLAN?!?

Interval Training and strength exercises 3x a week
Class of some worth (pilates, gym, etc.) 1x a week

Moderation

16 May

So I got some good advice recently and I really have realized that I AM that ill fated yo-yo dieter. Going on health binges, then party binges then food binges.. Enough! I just need to set some very reasonable goals that will help me slowly get in shape.

1. Eating when hungry – don’t starve, don’t binge, eat healthy or just small portions of calorie dense foods and I’ll feel good
2. Interval training. The last few times I’ve gone to the gym I’ve been doing interval training on the elliptical and stationary bike. I just feel like I’ve really WORKED something. It takes more motivation then just pumpking away at the machine but I’m going to stick with it.
3. Go to classes. Yoga, pilates, at gym, whatever. I am a Crunch gym member, known for their great “Superfun” classes and I never go. I want to try out some new ones, spinning and yoga (even though I hate the idea of doing yoga at the gym – it’s free cause I’ve already paid for it!)
4. Drink less. School is over, summer has arrived and I’ve just been going out out out! What can I say I love to go out and have fun and in nyc drinking is always part of it. My solution – as stupid as this sounds is that I think I’m going to try to get another job, just part time in the evenings. This will be a great distraction for me, great excuse for me, and I’ll get paid in the meantime

As of today i weighed 127lbs. OUCH! But honestly I just died my hair dark brown (I’ll upload a pic soon!), I have my two potential boys, and I’m feeling sexy and feeling good. Gotta love the summertime!

Stuffed to the Gills

14 May

So I spent this weekend at my parents house and just ate and ate and ate. I feel HUGE, stuffed to the gills. I still haven’t gotten back to the gym. Sorry for all of these pity posts, but I don’t knows whats going on with me, I can’t stop gorging myself on food.

Tomorrow I start a new course (Forensic Pyschology! fun fun), I’m doing laundry, cleaning the apt and heading to the gym. I also have not one, but two dates this week. Very strange and very lucky, how do I get two dates in one week when I feel so gross and feel like I look so gross. Look forward to more positive posts in the future I promise.
Also, I just ordered a super pretty japanese bento lunchbox and plan to make some great lunches which I will readily post!

Bikini Pics: Post-Cleanse

29 Apr

I almost realized that I haven’t given you guys after shots! So even though I’ve broken the cleanse and have some water back in my system, these are the before and after shots..

p4220001_2.jpg p4280016_1.jpg

BeforeAfter

As you can see the only real change is that I lost some water weight, but am enjoying that After-Side shot thank you very much.

I am going back to normal healthy food. I am going to really try for small portions, eating slowly, not eating when I’m not hungry anymore, etc. Going on the cleanse really makes you want to keep your stomach light! It just feels (and looks) better. Also, one of the best things about the cleanse is that not only did my body get a rest from the normal processes of digestion but my mind got a rest from the process of eating! While eating has always been a pleasure for me (I love delicious foods), I am constantly stressed by it, counting calories, calculating nutrition, food costs, etc. etc. When I was on the cleanse, I had no stressed and it felt great. For a little while I was attempting CRON (Calorie Restriction Optimal Nutrition), but the precision and the worry and the counting calories was giving me a disorder. I want to live without counting calories!

Master Cleanse: Day #3

26 Apr

Day #3, no hunger (so strange), no problem. Even went to the gym for a light light workout (133lbs btw). But, let me tell ya-these morning are NOT fun. I live with three other roommates and the fact that everyone is running around using the lil’ girls room in the morning, leaving it occupied is, well, just NOT fun. I was just emailing with a friend of mine and she recommended that only 1/2 cup of the herbal laxative be drank at night, instead of the full cup, so that mornings are a little less rough. There should be less and less to be “pushed out” of me as the days go on. Ew you don’t wanna here this.

So as you guys know it’s way more important for me to have a nice waist-hip ratio than to lose weight. Noone is carrying me anywhere, I can weight as much as I want! In response to one of my previous post “Skinny and Curvy?” an anonymous poster recommended that I do weight training to get a thin toned waist and still keep my curves. Ameliabelia, I feel you, my hips always get smaller first (My gym buddy says that is due to using the Elliptical/Cross-Trainer). But just in general my hips are much smaller than the rest of me. Does anyone know enough to recommend specific weight training exercises I should do, or better yet cardio equipment to use? This is for when I get off my cleanse-I don’t see a point in strength training now it will be too much exersion and I’m not eating any protein! I think running would be the best for toning up allover, especially the waist, but I have bad knees and I can’t run- at least not regularly or for more than 15 minutes.

One trainer online recommends, “If you want to lose fat, you should weight train at least three times per week (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). I like to recommend total body workouts each session for beginning trainers as it helps the body to learn the exercises faster and build strength and muscle faster. The REAL key to losing fat is ramping up your metabolism to burn calories ALL THE TIME rather than just when you’re exercising. By keeping cardio intensity low, you only burn calories DURING exercise, not so much after. But when you boost intensity, your metabolism gets cranked up and you burn more calories ALL DAY.”

picture-1.png

I know that this weight training thing is the correct idea. I do 98% cardio and don’t see significant changes in my body shape. Currently, I use the elliptical machine primarily and bike sometimes for cardio. I do crunches whenever I’m at the gym and sneak in a yoga class here and there. I think that perhaps I should try spinning as a high intensity cardio exercise. Also, pilates classes would be very beneficial because, as I have raved before, when I was doing pilates every day I had the best body in the world. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or money for that anymore, but I should be able to fit in at least one class a week.

Master Cleanse: Day #2

25 Apr

So Day #2 has been easy as well. I am stunned at how simple this cleanse is. I look a bit skinnier which is always nice. I went to the gym today, worked out more than I wanted to burning aboug 500 calories (I should be taking it easy I feel). Anyways I got the chance to weigh myself and I have lost a pound-not too interesting, but after all its only been two days.
What is surprising me is how few calories I am drinking. My body isn’t hungry or asking for more either. Is this a type of starvation mode? What is going on – anyone have any good conclusions?

Today I have drank about 5 glasses of the lemonade (500 calories) and plan to drink one more later in the evening. 600 calories a day-that’s crazy! But six glasses is fine according to the Master Cleanse book (though the minimum). Yesterday I only drank about 4 glasses. Well no point to drink the lemonade when I’m not hungry so I will just continue listening to my body.

I almost forgot to mention this morning. Finally, the herbal laxative tea and the salt water flush kicked in. I was definitely Flushed. As recommended by others I would say to any other master cleansers out there-give yourself a full hour to relax in bed, whatever (stay by a bathroom) before you leave the house in the morning. For me the problem was two-fold, first you just suddenly feel the need to go to the bathroom, and its a Strong need, you feel like if you don’t find a bathroom within 2 minutes you will explode. Secondly, I felt lots of cramping that was soothed by just relaxing in bed, I would hate to be at work or walking on the street and have to deal with any of this.

But I have to emphasize-I’m not craving food at all! I usually eat very well and exercise, but still for the few calories i’m eating I can hardly believe it. I wonder if i will even lose weight with the cleanse. The book says that most people lose 2lbs a day (this of course depends on the weight they started with). I began at 135lbs, I figure I will lose about four pounds for water weight, but it would be miraculous if I lose anymore-I’m just not feeling it. Wouldn’t it be amazing if I weighed 125 afterwards, that’d be insane! Additionally, I am starting to formulate my after-cleanse diet plan. I think I will do an extremely slow progression into food. This plan combines the suggested after-cleanse diet plan (for vegetarians) with my wish of incorporating raw food into my diet.
I am thinking…

Days #1-14 Master Cleanse
Day #15-16 fresh OJ (diluted)
Day #17-18 Fresh veggie and fruit juice (mostly green juice however)
Day #19-21 Raw Food Diet
Day #22-> Healthy Livin’

So this is my three week diet plan. I hope that I’m not overestimating my will-power here, but I think a plan will be helpful to guide me along. I think that I should lose about 2 lbs a week with this diet, 129lbs well that’d be lovely. But but but I must make it clear I do not care about the weight. This blog is called Do The Jane Fonda for a reason! It’s all about the waist. I’d love to lose a solid inch! I began at 29″ inch waist so lets hope for 28″ or better yet 27.5″ I don’t know quickly you can lose inches though, I think it must be a longer process, but lets hope!

mini-redhobbackfnl.jpg

Wow three weeks. Does this sound crazy or what but I can’t imagine not drinking for that long! Not a wino or alci, its just that so much of my social life revolves around bars.

Even with these pics, at this weight-I still think I’m damn sexy. Curves are great, but I think mine are growing disproportionally. No for real. Check it out!
